BOERNE, Texas – The Illinois women's golf team wrapped up play at the Jim West Challenge, hosted by Texas State University, with a 12th place finish at the three-day event. Illinois posted team rounds of 304-293-304, respectively, for a three-round total of 901 (+37).

Leading the Fighting Illini unit after the final round at the Tapatio Springs Resort was Grace Park. The sophomore finished in a share of 23rd place, carding her two best rounds of the season on the final 36 holes. Park posted rounds of 78-72-71 at the event, totaling 221 (+5). Entering the final 18 holes in a share of 40th place, Park climbed 17 spots in the concluding round of action. Park posted par on 36 of the 54 holes of the event in addition to carding eight birdies.

Chayanid Prapassarangkul and Bing Singhsumalee tied for 36th at the event, each posting an eight-over par mark of 224. Prapassrangkul opened the tournament by carding a 74 before scoring the lowest mark by the Illinois unit at the event in her second round at 69 (-3). She concluded the closing round with a reading of 81. Singhsumalee opened the three-day Jim West Challenge with a mark of 71 and followed up with scores of 78 and 75.

Dana Gattone was the fourth-highest finisher for the Fighting Illini, coming in at 63rd. The second-year Illini turned in readings of 81-76-77 to finish with a score of 234. Just behind Gattone was Stephanie Miller who carded rounds of 81-76-83 for a total of 240.

As a unit, the Orange and Blue posted par on 173 holes, just two tallies off of the top mark. Additionally, Illinois carded 26 birdies at the event, led by Park's eight with six by each Prapassarangkul and Singhsumalee.

Kent State took home the tournament title after an 852 (-12) outing at the event. Florida State finished as the runner-up with an even-par performance at 864. Texas A&M (867), Texas Tech (870) and Texas (871) rounded out the top-five finishers at the Jim West Challenge. Filling out the rest of the field were Houston (873), Miami (878), Missouri (879), Oklahoma (884), Mississippi State (897), Texas State (900), Illinois (901) and UTSA (908).

Following the Illinois Women's Golf Pro-Am event slated for Oct. 9th, the team will be back in action from Oct. 19-20, when the unit head's to the Louisville-hosted Cardinal Cup in Simpsonville, Kentucky.
