NCAA West Prelim Day 2 Results
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Fighting Illini women's track and field team concluded day two of the NCAA West Preliminary Round of Championship with Jesica Ejesieme qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the 400m hurdles. The senior will also compete in the 100m hurdles quarterfinal tomorrow, while Kandie Bloch-Jones is set for first-round competition in the high jump.
Jesica Ejesieme punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships after finishing second in her heat in the 400m hurdles quarterfinal. The Rowlett, Texas, native clocked a personal-best time of 57.21 to finish fourth overall in the event. Ejesieme also competed in the 100m hurdles and advanced to tomorrow's quarterfinal after finishing runner-up in her heat with a time of 13.64. The event is scheduled for a 7:20 p.m. CT start. Kandie Bloch-Jones will make her NCAA West Prelims debut tomorrow at 6:00 p.m. in the high jump.
Mariah Smith and Jazjuan Wallace-Sipp ended their seasons on Friday. Smith finished the day with a mark of 44.28m, while Wallace-Sipp threw 41.22m. Mobolaji Adeokun competed in the 100m hurdles but missed a spot in the quarterfinals after clocking a time of 14.07.

Two Illini will compete on the third and final day of the NCAA West Preliminary Round on Saturday, beginning with Kandie Bloch-Jones in the high jump at 6:00 p.m. CT.
