Hey Illini Fans!

I hope everyone is having a great week and getting ready for the holidays! In Champaign, we are beyond excited for Christmas; we all have our dorms and apartments fully decorated and are in the Christmas spirit.

As most of you know, last weekend our Illinois Men and Women's gymnastics teams hosted the annual Orange and Blue exhibition meet. As a freshman, this was my first experience being out on the competition floor in front of all of our family and friends and I must say it was truly a blast!! While it was a very close competition throughout the meet, I am sad to say that the orange team (which I was on) suffered in a loss. It was a fun and friendly competition, and really exciting to see all the progress we have made since the beginning of preseason.

This past week we have all been studying really hard for finals which is why Sunday night, we had a fun team Christmas party at Jo, Sunny, and Tori's apartment. Jo and Sunny made some of the best homemade decorations I have ever seen! There was even fake snow!!! We all dressed up in our red and white dresses, and took pictures like it was our job. In my opinion, I think the team pictures we took would make a pretty good-looking Christmas card. We all brought holiday treats to share, made a gingerbread house, and played some creative games thought of by Sunny, Jo, and MJ.

We have a few more practices and exams before we get to go home for the Holidays on Saturday!! It will definitely be nice to see our friends and families at home one last time before season starts! Can't believe there are only four more weeks until our first meet of the season at Central Michigan!
