Hi Illini Fans!

Can you believe it's already November?! That means season is right around the corner. October was a busy month full of upgrading the amount of skills in our routines and perfecting them. As Bridget talked about, we had our fall break which was definitely a great way get our bodies and minds back on track for the rest of preseason. We are starting to put routines together and as Jake would say, "Upping the Intensity!"

Last Thursday/Friday, we had our first mini intra-squad where we did routines on some events and halves on others. Since it was Halloween we made it fun by dressing up. We did not participate in our normal Halloween celebration by dressing up different teammates; however, I think we all enjoyed these costumes a little better. Kim split us up into two teams. We got to choose our team name along with a costume to go with it. The two teams were The Flipping Dead and The Gymumpkins. Can you guess what our costumes were?? It was a close competition, but the Flipping Dead pulled away with the win, wohoo!!!!! This gave us an opportunity to look at where we are and what we need to concentrate on these next few weeks until our first full intra-squad.

The coming weeks are full of intense practices and attention to detail. This year is already going by so fast as we only have three weeks until Thanksgiving break. Make sure to stay tuned for the next Illini ink.

Go Illini!

Kelsi
