CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Head coach Renee Slone's Illinois women's golf team is looking to extend its winning streak to three heading into the final competition of the fall season. The Illini are traveling to San Antonio, Texas for the Jim West Challenge from November 2-4 hosted by Texas State University.
Following a day of practice on Saturday the team will compete in three rounds of competition from Sunday through Tuesday with 18 holes slated for each day. The Tapatio Springs Golf Resort features a 6,234-yard course with a par 35 front nine and a 37-stroke back nine holes.
Traveling for the orange and blue will be Samantha Postillion and Stephanie Miller along with a trio of freshmen including Dana Gattone, Chayanid Prapassarangkul and Grace Park. Pimploy Thirati will also be making the trip to compete as an individual. The trip to Texas will be the final trip for redshirt-senior Postillion who will be graduating in December.
Other teams represented at the Jim West Challenge will be East Carolina, Houston, Iowa, #27 Kent State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, #22 Texas A&M, Texas State, Texas Tech and #47 Wisconsin.
