Illinois women's golf continues to find it tough sledding against a stellar field at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invite hosted by the University of Texas. The Illini posted a 317 in the second round to stand 15th heading into Tuesday's final round.
No. 2 Florida made a charge in day two with an eight-under par 280 to move into a first-place tie with No. 6 Alabama at three-under par 573. No. 3 Arizona State and Arkansas are just three shots back at even par.
Illinois is at +53 through two rounds. Junior Ember Schuldt shot a four-over par 76 on the 6,344-yard University of Texas Course and is tied for 57th individually with teammate Pimploy Thirati at +10. Sophomore Samantha Postillion is tied for 68th at +14 after a second-round 80. Sophomore Jacqueline Calamaro is 77th at +19 after also shooting 80 on Monday. Freshman Michelle Mayer is 80th at +27 after shooting an 87.
