CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
The University of Illinois I FUND will host its annual Illini Day at Wrigley
Field on Saturday, May 14, when the Chicago Cubs will take on the defending
World Series Champion San Francisco Giants at a "Saturday Night Special"
game time of 6:10 p.m. Illinois football coach Ron Zook is scheduled to
throw out the ceremonial first pitch and Fighting Illini basketball coach
Bruce Weber will be guest conductor for the seventh-inning stretch.
Before the game, the I FUND will host a two-hour pregame celebration at the
world-famous Cubby Bear on the corner of Clark & Addison. Special guests
will include Illini head football coach Ron Zook and head men's basketball
coach Bruce Weber, along with members of their respective staffs. This
special event will run from 4-6 p.m. and will include an unlimited
draft drink package and a delicious Cubby Bear ballpark dinner buffet
of hot dogs, burgers, fries, pasta and dessert.
Tickets are on sale now for $75 each and will be sold on a
first-come, first-served basis. Tickets include access to the pregame celebration at the Cubby Bear along with a seat next to 1,000 of your fellow Illini fans at the Cubs game.
