I am just going to begin by saying, I am not "naturally" funny so please do not get your hopes up by thinking you will be laughing throughout my entire blog. My teammates Annie McCarthy and Marisa Lambropoulos are the "naturals" on the team... although I personally like to include myself in that category (no one else seems to though). I would turn the blog into a rap but unfortunately I am not skilled with verses either. I am still searching for my hidden talent.
For those of you who have not been around the past five years, my name is Finn, or Finnman, as Mish likes to call me. I am a fifth-year senior and I am wrapping up my career shortly here as an Illini. That reminds me, I still have to write my senior speech for the banquet...I knew this blog was good for something! I am from the first state, Delaware, where the motto is "a place to be somebody".... I happen to agree.
Well anyways, enough about me and more about the team. This week we had two big matches. We played a tough Michigan team on Friday night but were unable to pull out a win. After evaluating our play we decided it is time to increase the size of our "guns" (aka biceps and triceps). Although I thought mine were looking pretty solid, it is clear we need to bump it up in the weight room!
We found more success on Sunday when we took down the Michigan State Spartans. After making us angry by taking our usual table at Einstein's that morning for breakfast, we put our game faces on and took care of business. It was nice to capture the win on a memorable Senior Day! My fellow senior and I, Annie McCarthy, played in our last home match as an Illini and came out victorious! On behalf of Annie, and myself we would like to thank you for all your support over the past couple of years! It has truly been an amazing four/five years competing in orange and blue!
The team is now preparing for our upcoming away matches against Minnesota and Wisconsin! Wish us luck!
Okay Misia, take care...(inside joke)
