Lady Buckeye Invite Final Results 
The Illinois (978) women's golf team concluded the 30th Annual Lady Buckeye Spring Invitational, held at the par-72, 6,275-yard Scarlet Course, in ninth place out of 12 teams. The Illini had a third round total of 317 to finish the tournament 114-over par. Sophomores Katelin Dilger (245) and Hailey Koschmann (245) led the Illini individually, shooting final rounds of 76 and 81, respectively, and finished in a tied for 38th, 29-over par.
"It's a challenging golf course to begin with," head coach Renee Slone said. "The scores showed yesterday that the conditions we were playing in made it even more challenging. Today conditions were much better. We'll have a team meeting tomorrow to assess the tournament and discuss what we learned and what we need to do in order to prepare for Big Ten's this weekend."
Sophomore Samantha Sloan (246) had a third round 81 to finish the tournament 30-over par and tied for 40th. Junior Raquel Hopton (247) ended the tournament 31-over par after a final round 79 to finish in a tie for 44th.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Wampler (248) concluded the tournament with a final round of 83 to finished 32-over par and tied for 49th. Rounding out the Orange and Blue is freshman Crystal Smith (257), who shot a 82 in the final round and finished 41-over par.
Tournament host Ohio State (919) won the team title, finishing 14 strokes ahead of second-place Michigan State (933). Northwestern (937), Kent State (947), and Iowa State (949) round out the top five, respectively.
Michigan State's Laura Kueny won medalist honors with an 11-over par 227, narrowly edging second-place Rachel Rohanna of the host Buckeyes, who finished with a 54-hole total of 228 and 12-over par.
"We're going to continue to work on some putting, especially short putts," Slone said. "We'll work on a little bit more on the individual things each person needs to work on to best prepare themselves for tournament."
With the conclusion of the Lady Buckeye Invitational, Illinois finishes up its regular season and will next head to Madison, Wis., for the Big Ten Championships at Wisconsin's University Ridge course. The 72-hole event will begin on Friday, April 23 and conclude on Sunday, April 25.
