EIU Friday Night Special Schedule 
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois men's track and field team heads to Charleston, Ill., on Feb. 19 for the EIU Friday Night Special, its final tune-up meet before next week's Big Ten Indoor Championships. The Illini send 15 athletes to the Lantz Fieldhouse, including All-Americans Andrew Riley and Greg Shroka, who will both compete in the high jump. Field events begin at 2 p.m. followed by running events starting at 3 p.m.
Shroka, who has notched three provisional qualifying marks in the high jump, takes another shot at the school record and the automatic standard, while Riley, who matched the school record in the 60m dash at the Tyson Invitational, will focus solely on the high jump. Freshman Ryan Michel will also compete in the event.
Junior Alex Baldwin leads a group of five pole vaulters, which includes freshmen Joshua Hodur and Steve Monte and sophomores Timothy Gaumer and Shawn Ledbetter, who is also scheduled for the long jump. Other field event competitors are freshman Brett Einbecker in the shot put, sophomore Brett Ramirez in the weight throw and sophomore Roger Jones in the long and triple jump.
Freshman Ryan Lynn is the lone Illini slated to run the 800m and sophomore Eric Johannigmeier is the only Illini in the mile, while a pair of freshmen distances runners, Jordan Hebert and Phil Pompei, will compete in the 3,000m.
