FLUSHING, N.Y. - Junior Dennis Nevolo bounced back with a big win Friday in the first round of the consolation draw at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships in Flushing, N.Y. Nevolo knocked off the tournament's top seed Alex Domijan (Virginia), 7-6 (4), 6-0, to advance to the second round of the back draw. Domijan had earned the No. 1 seed after winning the singles title at the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships in early October, but was one of four seeded players to fall in the first round of the main draw on Thursday. Nevolo advances to face Wil Spencer of Georgia on Saturday.

At the Crimson Tide Fall Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Illini struggled in singles, with sophomores Stephen Hoh and Bruno Abdelnour and redshirt freshman Brian Alden falling in first-round matches. Doubles play is still ongoing and a complete summary of results will be included with Saturday's recap.
