CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
The Illinois men's gymnastics team will add a former U.S. National team member next fall, as associate head coach Justin Spring announced the signing of Joshua Wilson (Allen, Texas/Allen/Elite Champion Gymnastics) to a national letter of intent.
"We're excited to have Josh come on next season," Spring said. "He's outstanding in the all-around, but has huge potential on parallel bars, high bar, floor exercise and vault. Josh is a veteran competitor, as he is a past Junior Olympics (J.O.) National Champion, and we look forward to his competitive experience and elite-level routines."
Wilson is a three-time U.S. National team member, a four-time Region 3 all-around champion and a two-time Texas all-around state champion. At J.O. Nationals, he has placed in the top four in the all-around on three different occasions, including a first-place finish in 2006, and was the vault national champion in 2005. He most recently took third in the all-around at the 2010 Houston National Invitational.
