Our Fourth of July road trip to Mish's house turned out to be an eating contest. The second we arrived Patty (Mish's Mom) turned into a cooking machine. Between her dips, pastas, burgers, and desserts, I think it is safe to say we all gained about 10 pounds over our three-day stay. In the mean time, when we were not eating we watched the Wimbledon final. Did anyone see the epic match between Andy Roddick and Roger Federer? Was that a great match or what! Amy, Chelcie, Mish, and I all woke up at the crack of dawn to watch that amazing four-hour battle. I thought it was never going to end! Federer looked like he never even broke a sweat. We were all rooting for Roddick, not only because he is American, but he had an unbelievable tournament. Patty on the other hand, had different reasons why she wanted Roddick to win. She did not want to see Federer beat Pete Sampras (of Greek descent) and break the record for the most Grand Slams won (15...wow!).
To take a break from eating we went to see the movie "The Hangover." Mish, Amy, and I saw the movie before but it was worth seeing again. One of the main characters, Allen, shares many of the same characteristics with a certain someone on our team ...Chelcie. Those of you who saw the movie know that Allen is in another world, just like Chelcie and asks a few too many ridiculous questions, just like Chelcie, haha.
This week we worked hard to prepare for our tournament this weekend at Washington University in St. Louis. We are all looking forward to competing and testing out a few new doubles pairings! We are determined to win the doubles point every time!
