CHAMPAIGN, Ill. The Illinois women's track and field/cross country program currently stands tied for 10th in the Terry Crawford Program of the Year standings, with the outdoor track and field season still left to complete.
The award, given annually by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, honors the institution that achieved the most success in each academic year based on the team's finish at the national championships in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field.
Illinois is currently tied for 10th with Villanova with a total of 37.5 points, based on its 10th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships and its 27th-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Florida State leads the standings with 11 points after finish third at the cross country championships and eighth at the indoor track and field championships.
