Big Ten Sportsmanship winners in PDF Format
Junior track star Angela Bizzarri and senior basketball player Trent Meacham represented Illinois on the Big Ten Sportsmanship team. The duo was selected from the school's individual event winners from the 2008-09 season. In addition, 50 Illinois spring sport athletes have been named Academic All-Big Ten.
A six-time All-American, Bizzarri won the 5,000 meters at both the Big Ten and NCAA Mideast Regional meet and enters the NCAA Championships as the top seed. Her personal best time of 15:37.39 is the tenth fastest overall in the United States this season. Bizzarri placed fourth in the 3,000 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships after taking sixth at the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Mason, Ohio, native holds six school records.
Meacham, a native of Champaign, transferred to Illinois from the University of Dayton and helped engineer one of the biggest turnarounds in the country this season. One of the top three-point shooters in Illinois history, Meacham ranks fifth on the Illinois career three-point field goal percentage list (40.8) and ninth on school's career threes made list with 178. He started his final two seasons for the Illini, averaging just over 10 points per game in each season. This year he ranked second in the Big Ten in three-point field goal percentage (42.1).
The spring Academic All-Big Ten honorees from Illinois include Big Ten Indoor 600 meter champion Gary Miller from men's track & field; Bizzarri from women's track & field; and All-American Danielle Zymkowitz from softball. It also includes First Team All-Big Ten honorees Dominic Altobelli and Brandon Wikoff from baseball; Chris DeForest and Scott Langley from men's golf; Marc Spicijaric from men's tennis; Leigh Finnegan and Megan Fudge from women's tennis; and Hollie Pinchback, Hope Howell and Zymkowitz from softball.

Illinois athletes honored include 10 from baseball, three from men's golf, three from men's tennis, nine from men's track & field, eight from softball, two from women's golf, five from women's tennis, and 10 from women's track and field.
