Mike Green speaks to student-athletes on alcohol/drug abuse

March 5, 2009

Mike Green spoke to Illinois student-athletes at Foellinger Auditorium last Tuesday night on the drug and alcohol awareness. Earlier in the day, Mr. Green presented to the University of Illinois coaches, athletic trainers, and academic staff at the Irwin Academic Center on his topic, titled "One Night can have a Lifetime of Consequences." He has spoken on more than 2,000 college campuses across the nation over the past twenty years as a drug and alcohol awareness speaker.

In his presentation to students, Mike's mission was to simply offer accurate information about the mental and physical damage substance abuse can cause. He emphasized the challenge that students must face in recognizing personal accountability and making responsible decisions.

This is the third time he has spoken on the Urbana-Champaign campus.

Mike is a former football student-athlete and coach at West Chester University in Pennsylvania and currently resides in Tampa, FL. You can learn more about him and his program at his website.
