CARMEL, Ind. - The Orange and Blue carded the second-lowest 54-hole total (898) in school history and finished in third place at the Indiana Invitational for the second consecutive year. The Illini tallied a final round 297 at the par-72 5,938-yard Crooked Stick Golf Club and finished ahead of four top-50 teams and six Big Ten conference foes in the 15-team field. No. 6 Purdue turned in a 12-under 852 to win the tournament, finishing 42 strokes ahead of fellow Big Ten competitor and second-place Ohio State (894).

"We played solid today with a little tougher conditions than yesterday," head coach Renee Slone said. "I just told the girls to play their own game and be aggressive. We played smart golf, minimized our mistakes and didn't have any mental errors, which was key."

Senior Stephanie Mory fired a career-low 5-over 221 and finished in 10th place. Mory's final round 1-under 71 tied her previous career low, set at the opening round of the 2006 UNLV Spring Invitational, and was highlighted by an eagle at the par-5 ninth. Mory has finished in the top-10 in two straight tournaments after tying for third at this past weekend's Illini Spring Classic.

Senior Seul Ki Park extended her streak of top-18 finishes to nine thanks to a final round 2-over 74. Park notched a 54-hole total of 225, tying her for 17th. Senior Kristine Cook (226) and freshman Raquel Hopton (226) tied for 20th after final rounds of 74 and 78, respectively. Senior Kristin Kallergis (246) tied for 72nd after a final round 82.

Junior Nancy Featherstone competed as an individual and carded a final round 2-over 74. She tied for 13th with a career-low total of 223, ranking 10 strokes better than her previous best score of 233, set at the 2006 Shootout at the Legends.

Junthima Gulyanamitta of Purdue earned medalist honors with a 7-under 209, four strokes better than teammates Maria Hernandez and Maude-Aimee Leblanc, who tied for second at 3-under (213).

The Orange and Blue edged fourth-place Texas (899) by a single stroke and fifth-place UNLV (900) by two shots. Illinois has finished in the top-five in six straight tournaments, including victories at the season-opening Gainesville Shootout III and its home tournament the Illini Spring Classic.

"If we keep playing like we are now, we will have a strong showing at Big Tens," Slone said. "Our confidence continues to build with each round, and we are definitely moving in the right direction."

Up Next: Illinois returns to action in a week and a half when they travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Lady Buckeye Invitational from April 19-20.
