Hello Illini Fans!
It is such a great feeling to see everyone working hard in the gym preparing for the upcoming season! Only two days left in the month of October and before you know it November will pass us and Mixed Pairs will be here!
This past weekend we had our Fall Break which means we all got Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off from practice. It was nice to have the three days off to rest our bodies and relax. A few of the girls on the team that live fairly close to Champaign were able to go home and see their families while the rest of us just stayed in town. With the break, we were able to catch up and get ahead on some of our schoolwork, which was really nice! Although it was great to have some time off, we were all very anxious to get back in the gym and start training hard.
As you know, Halloween is coming up on Friday and we are all really excited to have our dress up day at the gym. Every year we each pick out a costume for someone else. We have a big box in our locker room that has some random items in it like boas, wigs and clothes with crazy printing on them that we use as a part of our costumes. I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with this year, they seem to get better and better every year!
After practice on Friday we are all volunteering at the Volleyball game to shag the balls! Basically we have to roll the balls around on the court so they get to the right people. This should be an easy job, but you never know, we're gymnasts! Our volleyball team is playing Michigan which means it will most likely be a very exciting game to watch, although I have to say they are all exciting! Of course on Saturday we will all be supporting our football team when they go up against the University of Iowa. GO ILLINI!!! We love supporting our fellow Illini teams. It's going to be a very exciting weekend!
