Much like the Fighting Illini football team, Memorial Stadium's Renaissance is a work in progress. Coach Ron Zook's Illinois gridders take on the Western Illinois Leathernecks Saturday in the home opener. Fans who haven't been to the Stadium since last season will see a remarkably different view. The major structural changes on the west side to accommodate premium seating and a new pressbox in 2008 are well underway, new north stands for the Block 'I' and students will be used for the first time, and fans will see the familiar scoreboard in an unfamiliar location, at the south end of the venue.
