Wildcat Fall Invitational Leaderboard
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Illinois finished day one of the Wildcat Fall Invitational tied for eighth place at the University Club's 6,157-yard par 72 Big Blue Course. The Orange and Blue's opening round 311 matched No. 44 Mississippi State's total and put them 10 shots out of the top five.
Senior Seul Ki Park carded her second-best round of the season with a two-over 74, tying her for 13th. Park began the day on the back-nine with a birdie followed by three straight bogeys and 14 straight pars. Senior Kristin Kallergis carded three birdies on the day along with five bogeys and one double bogey to finish with a four-over 76, tying her for 22nd. Senior Casey Burden fired a five-over 77 and sits in 28th place, while senior Kristine Cook rounded out the scoring for the Illini with an 84, tying her for 60th. Senior Stephanie Mory's score of 86 did not count towards the team total. Kallergis and Burden each tallied their individual lows for the season on Saturday.
Four of the five ranked teams in the tournament finished the day in the top five. No. 15 Alabama led the way with a 292 followed by No. 5 Florida (295). Arkansas is in third with a 298, just of head of No. 31 Central Florida (300), while South Florida and No. 23 Kentucky tied for fifth with identical scores of 301.
