CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
Freshman Kristina Minor of the Illinois women's tennis team was recently accepted as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, announced the National Leaders and Honors Organization. Minor, who registered a strong début campaign on the courts for the Illini this season, primarily playing Nos. 4-5 singles, has shown that her work off the court has been just as superb.
The Mundelein, Ill, native just recently garnered the honor to the national leadership and honors organization. Sigma Alpha Lambda is an organization that is dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and providing members with opportunities for community service, personal development and lifelong professional fulfillment.
Minor also was the recipient of the team's Fighting Illini Spirit Award, which was recently named after 2006 Illini Brianna Knue. Minor received the distinction at the annual Illinois Tennis Banquet on May 2.
