DESTIN, Fla.- The Orange and Blue women's golf team remains in sixth place after Sunday's 18 holes at the Chrysler Challenge hosted by Florida State University at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, Florida. The Illini scored 326 in round one Saturday and scored 320 during play today, for a two-round total of 646. The Illini are just one stroke behind Mississippi State at 645. The Illini remian led by junior Stephanie Mory (156), who carded a 78 during both rounds this weekend.
Following Mory are fellow juniors Casey Burden tied for 27th (81-80= 161), Kristine Cook, who advanced four places from Saturday tying for 30th today (83-80= 163) and Seul Ki Park (84-82= 166) to tie for 39th. Sophomore Nancy Featherstone is currently in 56th, carding a two round total of 187 (88-99) to round out the Illini scoring.
Host Florida State (303-298= 601) remains the leader of the ten-team field by 20 strokes. Following the Seminoles is the University of North Carolina (314-307= 621) in second and the College of Charleston moved up from a tie for fourth place after the first round into third place (323-305= 628).
Florida State's Caroline Westrup (74-73= 147) is the two-round individual leader during the tournament, while Dori Carter of Ole Miss shot a 74 today, giving her a two-round total of 149 to tie her with Florida State's Lacey Agnew (73-76= 149), respectively.
Monday's third and final round will be a shotgun start and is scheduled for an 8:00 CST start.
