In anticipation of a heavy walk-up crowd at the 2006 college football opener between Illinois and Eastern Illinois Saturday, UI officials have extended ticket window hours. Fans may now purchase tickets beginning at Noon on Saturday at any of the ticket windows on both the east and west sides of Memorial Stadium.

"With great weather predicted and a lot of local interest in the game, we've decided to maximize our ticket services on Saturday," said Jason Heggemeyer, UI director of ticket operations. "To avoid any delays when the entering the stadium, fans are encouraged to buy their tickets early in the day, then enjoy the tailgating until game time at 6 p.m. Of course, fans can also purchase tickets on-line 24 hours a day."

Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.fightingillini.com, in person at the Athletics Ticket Office or by phone at (toll free) 866-ILLINI-1 or 217-333-3470. Season ticket orders are still being taken. Single-game tickets are $42 on the east and west sidelines and $24 in the south Horseshoe section.
