CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
The Illinois women's tennis team will head to South Bend, Ind., to compete at the Notre Dame Invitational Nov. 10-12 on the campus of Notre Dame University. The tournament will serve as the final event for the Illini this fall, and will be the final tune up for the young Orange and Blue netters before the beginning of the spring dual match season.
"Our goal during the fall was to continually get better with every match that we played," head coach Michelle Dasso said. "I want to use this final tournament as an opportunity for the team to build some confidence heading into the spring."
The Notre Dame invitational format includes three flights of singles and one flight of doubles, with each Illini playing one singles and one doubles match everyday. The four-team field includes Central Michigan, DePaul, Illinois and Notre Dame. The tournament begins on Friday, Nov. 10, and will conclude on Sunday, Nov. 12.
Set to compete at the event for the Illini will be senior Emily Wang, juniors Alejandra Meza Cuadra and Momei Qu, sophomore Shivani Davé and freshmen Leigh Finnegan, Megan Fudge and Kristina Minor.
