BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Illini women's golf team climbed five spots at the 22nd annual Indiana Invitational to finish seventh out of the nineteen team field. The Orange and Blue played impressively with a 311 during Sunday's final round to finish tied for seventh with a 642 (331-311). The event was shortened to only two rounds due to heavy rains on Saturday.

Junior Megan Godfrey led the Illini with a career-best one under par 71 on the 6,142-yard Indiana University Golf Course. The Homewood, Ill. native entered the final round tied for 26th but finished in fourth with rounds of 82 and 71, ending the tournament at 9-over par (153).

Lyndsey Milligan also shot in the 70s with a 78 on the second day of competition. Illinois also counted an 81 form Meghan Naik and Casey Burden. Kristine Cook carded an 82 followed by an 83 from Seul Ki Park.

Norte Dame University won the event with a score of 620 defeating runner-up Grand Valley State by nine strokes (629). Noriko Nakazaki of Norte Dame captured medalist honors with a winning score of 2-over par (146).

The Fighting Illini women's golf team is back in action April 8-9, hosting the annual Illini Spring Classic at Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana.
