The 2004 Illinois football campaign began Monday with the reporting of both veterans and rookies to the Memorial Stadium complex. The group was fitted for equipment, given physicals and granted interviews, which started the 13-day, 18-practice fall session.
The class, which features 27 freshmen, will start with five practice sessions in Champaign at the Illini football complex, before moving onto the seventh annual Camp Rantoul.
Fans can meet the 2004 Illini squad at the annual Fan Appreciation Day on Friday, Aug. 13 from 6:30-8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Parking and admission is free.
