University of Illinois freshman Tiffany Nesfield was one of nearly 300 junior athletes from 42 different states and the District of Columbia who have been named 2004 Verizon Junior All-Americans by USA Track & Field.
Nesfield earned the distinction following her sixth place finish in the 100m hurdles at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Springdale, Md. native clocked 13.83s in the race. She brings with her personal bests of 13.69s in the 100m hurdles and 1:02.39 in the 400m hurdles.
To achieve the rank of Verizon All-American, 287 athletes finished in the top eight places at the 2004 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships June 25-27 in College Station, Texas. The meet was part of USATF's Verizon Youth Series, and competitors were required to be U.S. citizens and to be no older than 19-years-old during the 2004 calendar year.
