WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Jerod Void ran for a career-high 119 yards and four touchdowns as No. 22 Purdue rolled to a 43-10 victory over Illinois on Saturday.

The Boilermakers (4-1, 1-0 Big Ten) have won four straight overall and seven straight conference openers under Joe Tiller, who became just the second Purdue coach to win 50 games.

The Illini (1-5, 0-2) lost their fourth straight and were beaten by Purdue for the first time since 1998.

But on a day when everything seemed to go right for the Boilermakers, Void finally produced the breakout game Purdue had hoped for. He carried 25 times, broke free routinely, frequently gaining yards in huge chunks.

From the start, it was no contest.

Purdue had eight first downs on its first 15 plays and 212 total yards in the first quarter.

By halftime, the Boilermakers already had 200 yards rushing, 378 total yards, had scored on four of six possessions and led 27-3.

Wide receiver John Standeford caught six passes for 101 yards - all in the first half - and moved into second on the Big Ten's career reception list with 215. He also set a school record for yards receiving (3,062) and moved into fifth on the Big Ten's career list.

Void got started early, rushing for 86 yards and three touchdowns - one more than he'd had in the Boilermakers first four games - in the first half.

For the Illini, it was pure misery.

They struggled to move the ball all day and could not stop Purdue's balanced. Illinois finished with 191 total yards, 60 coming on its lone scoring drive that ended with a 28-yard field goal from John Gockman early in the second quarter.

Jon Beutjer, the Big Ten's passing leader, was just 12-of-23 for 107 yards with one interception.

Purdue took advantage of the Illini's poor play.

Void scored on a 2-yard run on the Boilermakers first series and a 4-yard run on the next series to make it 14-0.

Kyle Orton then threw a 20-yard TD pass to Ray Williams, who made a nifty move along the sideline to slip one defender before racing into the end zone. Jones' extra point was blocked but the Boilermakers still led 20-0.

Void scored again on a 5-yard run midway through the second quarter and on a 1-yard plunge early in the third quarter after Beutjer's interception.

Ibrahim Halsey scored Illinois' only touchdown on a 41-yard punt return in the fourth quarter.

Purdue's Ben Jones hit a career-long 50-yard field goal in the third quarter for Purdue, and Brandon Jones closed out the scoring with a 5-yard TD run in the game's final minute.
