CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -
The University of Illinois men's track and field team wrapped up their preseason schedule with the Fighting Illini Fall Classic Saturday at the Armory Track in Champaign.
Freshman Andre English claimed the 150 meter dash title with a time of 16.12. That time was good enough to edge fellow freshman Abe Jones who came in second with a time of 16.26. Sophomore James Keim also ran well in the race finishing third with a time of 16.38.
In the 500 meters, Clint Cherco held off Decatur, Ill., native Adrian Walker with a time of 1:04.26. It was a solid effort for the sophomore who held off the freshman Walker by .69 seconds.
As he did Friday in the mile, senior Aaron Wahls came out victorious in the 800 meters. The senior coasted to a time of 1:56.00 to get the win.
