MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-- The Illinois women's golf team finished the season today at the Big Ten Championship with a 72-hole total of 1300 at the 72-par, 5,979-yard Les Bolstad University of Minnesota Golf Course. The Illini finished in 11th place. Michigan State took the team title with a total of 1219 strokes.
Sophomore Renata Young continued to pace the Illinois squad. She finished 41st with a 322. Carmel Sielicki finished with a tournament total of 326 to tie for 48th. With a total of 328, Stephanie Cheney came in 50th. Laurin Kanda tied for 57th with a 333. Michelle Carroll shot a 338 to finish 62nd. After withdrawing from the third round on Saturday, Marla Cox came back with a 79 today.
The entire team will return next year for the young Illinois squad, which had no seniors.
