SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Illinois women's golf team shot a 328 in the final round of the San Antonio Shootout at the 72-par, 5,925-yard Pecan Valley course. The Illini finished ninth with a team total of 638 strokes. Indiana won the 11-team tournament with a 608.

Freshman Marla Cox continued playing well. She tied for 10th place with a tournament total of 154. She has now finished among the Top 10 in all three spring tournaments. Sophomore Laurin Kanda was the next highest finisher for the Illini. She tied for 24th with a 160. Stephanie Cheney shot a 162 to tie for 37th followed by Michelle Carroll and Renata Young, who tied with each other for 52nd with totals of 167 strokes each.

The Illini are off until they host the Illini Spring Classic as part of the Spring Sports Festival April 13-14 at Stone Creek Golf Club in Urbana.
