Two Illini Qualify For NCAA's

Two Illinois men's track team members qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships held in Buffalo, New York June 3-6. The qualifying field was announced Thursday evening by the NCAA.

Junior middle distance runner Bobby True will make a repeat appearance at the NCAA Outdoors in the 800m run. True qualified for the Championships with a time of 1:47.59 at a last chance meet held at Southern Cal May 17, plaing him 13th in the nation. True finished eighth in the event at the NCAA Outdoors last year and was crowned 800m Big Ten champion May 24 with a time of 1:48.30.

Senior Joe Knuffman qualified for the NCAA Outdoor long jump field with a mark of 25-8 (7.82m), which was registered at the Illini Twilight Meet May 9 in Champaign. Knuffman's qualifying jump places him 10th in the nation.
