Education:

Young graduated from Eastern Illinois in 1984 with a B.S. in Accounting and received her M.S. in Taxation from DePaul University in 1990.

Responsibilities:

Susan Young was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director in 2012 after being appointed the Associate Director of Athletics - Business Affairs for the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics in 2007. In addition to leading the business office, Young serves as the sport administrator for swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis.

Past Experience:

Prior to her position at Illinois, Young's career spanned more than 20 years as an executive providing tax and financial consulting advice to individuals and small businesses. Her most recent position was senior vice president in the Wealth Management Division of First Mid-Illinois Bank & Trust in Mattoon, Ill. Young's position at First Mid included providing tax and financial planning advice to Wealth Management customers and all corporate tax planning and required filings for First Mid. Young also worked as the Executive Director of KKP Group in Evanston, Ill., Tax Director of Fel-Pro Incorporated in Skokie, Ill., and Senior Tax Manager of Ernst & Young in Chicago, Ill.
