Education: Hermosillo received his bachelor's degree in Secondary Education from the University of Kansas in 2015. He received his master’s in Higher Education Administration in 2019 from the University of Kansas.
 
Job Responsibilities: Hermosillo serves as the Assistant Academic Counselor for football. His responsibilities include monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes through one-on-one advising, supervising freshman study hall, and preparing daily and weekly reports for coaches. In addition he also works in a learning specialist capacity with a caseload of football student-athletes.
 
Past Experience: Prior to Illinois, Hermosillo worked as a graduate assistant for student-athlete support services at the University of Kansas serving the football team as a counselor. During his time there he worked with offensive and defensive walk-ons student-athletes and created a career preparation program for outgoing seniors.
 
Personal: Hermosillo is an active member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and is an active member of the Ethnic Concerns Committee and Young Professionals Committee.
