Education:
Gates earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in recreation, sport and tourism.

Responsibilities:
Gates generates outbound communications with fans to maintain relationships and foster a positive stadium atmosphere. He works heavily with ticket sales and I FUND gifts from University of Illinois Athletics donors and fans.

Past Experience:
Gates was a ticket office assistant at Illinois from May - June 2023 prior to moving into his position as an assistant director of ticket sales and development. Gates held multiple positions with the Normal CornBelters including account executive (March - May 2023) and sales, communications and operations intern (summer 2022). From August 2022 - May 2023, Gates was the lead student ambassador and campus marketer with Monster Energy.

Personal:
Gates is a native of nearby Mahomet, Illinois, and has been a lifelong Illini Athletics fan.
