Mark Uitermarkt enters his fifth season with Illinois Women’s Basketball, serving as the program’s video coordinator. Uitermarkt came to Champaign from Illinois State University where he most recently spent two seasons as the video coordinator for the women’s basketball program.
While at Illinois State, Uitermarkt was responsible for all team travel arrangements, as well as working with the team budget. In addition, Uitermarkt also served as the liasion to the marketing department, academic study center and the booster club.
Uitermarkt has 11 years of Division I women’s basketball experience and also coached at the Division III level for three seasons.
For eight seasons, Uitermarkt was the administrative specialist and operations and video coordinator for the Michigan women’s basketball team and was responsible for operational and administrational assistance. His main tasks included working with team technology, assisting in on-campus recruiting, helping in summer basketball camp coordination, film breakdown for scouting, and breakdown of game film for team and individual players.
Also at Michigan, Uitermarkt assisted in the two-year design and construction project of the William Davidson Player Development Center and Crisler Arena renovation project. With the Wolverines, he also worked with various other offices within the athletic department.
Prior to his time at Michigan, Uitermarkt served as the director of basketball operations at Missouri State for two seasons. The 2000-01 Lady Bears advanced to the NCAA Final Four and Uitermarkt was involved in all operational tasks for the nationally recognized team.
Uitermarkt also has eight years of coaching experience between the collegiate and high school levels.
