Director of track and field/cross country Petros Kyprianou appointed Courtney Hill as the program's new Director of Operations on Monday, Jan. 15. Hill joins the Fighting Illini staff after spending the last four years at UCLA.

Hill served as the Director of Operations at UCLA beginning in the fall of 2022 until January 2024. Prior to her tenure there, she served as UCLA's Assistant Director of Travel Operations from 2019-2022 before being promoted to Director of Operations in the fall of 2022.

Before her time at UCLA, she worked at Fusion Sport, Inc., where she specialized in Business Development and Team Operations for a short time from 2018-19.

Hill, most notably, spent some time at the USA Track and Field National Office (USATF) as a Coordinator, Generalist in 2015 before being promoted to International Teams Coordinator from 2016-18.

Hill is no stranger to Illinois, as she was a former track and field student-athlete at Southern Illinois University Carbondale from 2008-12. The Saluki alum specialized in the 200, 400, and 800 meters and led off the 4x400 meter relay team. Hill was coached at Southern Illinois by four-time Olympian Connie Price-Smith, who currently is the head coach at the University of Mississippi. Hill graduated from her alma mater in Sport Administration and Sport Studies.

Prior to her arrival at Southern Illinois, Hill competed for four years in both cross country and track and field at Lawrence North High School. Many of her former high school and collegiate teammates have gone on to compete at both the Olympic Games and World Championships.

Hill is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, and her parents, Alan and Jennett Hill, are former basketball, football, and track and field student-athletes. Hill's father was inducted into the DePauw University Athletics Hall of Fame for both football and pole vault in 1994. She has one sibling, Preston, who competed in football and track and field as well.
