At Benedictine University: Played one season at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill., at fullback and offensive line...Was the only freshman named to the 2003 Illini-Badger All-Conference team...Was named to the Dean's List with a perfect GPA.

High School: Was a two-year starter for Thornton earning All-Conference accolades for the S.I.C.A. Blue during senior season in 2002...Helped Thornton to a conference title with an 8-1 record during junior year...Earned five varsity letters: three in football and two in wrestling...Received an award for highest GPA for a student-athlete in each of his four years...High School football coach was Bill Mosel.
