Reggie Bain is in his first season as an offensive graduate assistant at Illinois in 2021. Bain comes to Champaign following a stint as assistant coach at Miami Central High School. He was a two-time All-Conference USA first team offensive lineman during his career at Florida Atlantic.
Bain helped Illinois to a pair of road ranked wins in 2021. The Illini won at #7 Penn State in nine overtimes, the longest game in college football history, and won at #20 Minnesota, the program’s first ever win over a College Football Playoff ranked opponent.
Bain played in 50 games at FAU from from 2014-18. He was a 247Sports Freshman All-American and Conference-USA All-Freshman Team pick as a true freshman in 2014, All-Conference USA second team honoree as a sophomore, then had back-to-back All-Conference USA first team seasons as a junior and senior.
After Bain’s sophomore season in 2015, he missed the following year due to a broken hip suffered in a motor scooter accident. Bain watched many of the Owls’ 2016 games from an outpatient rehabilitation center, before working all the way back to all-conference form in 2017 and 2018.
Bain is a native of Miami, Florida, and graduate of Miami Central High School. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a degree in management.
