Senior - 2015

  • Hit .237 with 33 runs, 22 RBI and led the team with 14 stolen bases
  • Named to the NCAA Champaign Regional All-Tournament Team after hitting .600 with five runs, two doubles, a triple, and two stolen bases (5/29-6/1)
  • Hit his first home run of the season while walking twice and driving in two runs  against Nebraska (5/15)
  • Tied season-high hits (3) and runs (2) vs. Rutgers (5/10) and Wright State (6/1)
  • Had five runs and four hits during the Ohio State series
  • Had pinch-hit game-winning hit at Illinois State (4/14)
  • Went 2-for-3 with a stolen base vs. Kent State (3/25)
  • Had a double, run and RBI vs. Lindenwood-Belleville (3/18)

  • Ranked fourth in the Big Ten with a team-high 20 stolen bases and tied for 10th in the conference with a team-best 41 runs
  • Hit first career home run on the first pitch of the game at Iowa (5/11)
  • Had a season-long nine-game hitting streak from April 11-23 in which he hit .410 (16-of-39) with nine runs scored
  • Turned in three multi-hit games and hit .571 (8-for-14) in the Michigan series
  • Totaled three hits and a run in the series opener at Northwestern (4/4)
  • Hit .500 (6-for-12) with two hits in each game and four runs scored vs. Purdue
  • Turned in a career-best game at Georgia State (2/15), going 4-for-6 with three runs, two RBI and three stolen bases
  • Equaled a career-high by going 4-for-5 with a run and two RBI at Florida (2/28)
  • Posted third four-hit game of the year at Western Kentucky (3/8)

Sophomore - 2013

  • Hit .305 and scored 25 runs in 25 games before missing the second half of the season due to an arm injury
  • Started 22 straight games from Feb. 22-April 5 as the Illini leadoff hitter, helping the team to a 17-5 record during that time before being sidelined due to a broken arm suffered at Indiana (4/5) after being hit by a pitch
  • Threw out runner at home from left field for final out of game in the 3-2 victory over Oakland in game two of the doubleheader (3/30)
  • Named a Primetime Performer by College Baseball 360 after the sweep of Baylor (3/8-9) in which he hit .538 (7-for-13) and scored five runs to lead the Illini in Waco
  • Tallied a career-high three hits in both games of the doubleheader at Baylor (3/9)
  • Posted three hits and two runs vs. both Ohio (2/22) and Boston College (2/24) at the Keith LeClair Classic
  • Pinch-hit in the first two games of the season at Tennessee Tech
  • Academic All-Big Ten

Freshman - 2012

  • Played in 32 games on the season, starting 15
  • Started 11 games at designated hitter and four in right field
  • Hit .275 (14-for-51) with two doubles, five RBIs and 10 runs while stealing 3-of-5 bases
  • Reached base at a .368 rate when leading off an inning
  • Served as Illinois' primary DH against left-handed pitchers, earning 12 starts
  • Saw first collegiate action against Gonzaga on 2/24, entering as a pitcher in the eighth inning and recording the final two outs of the inning before leading off the ninth inning with a hit in his first career at bat
  • Made his first career start at DH at Coastal Carolina, going 0-for-2 with an RBI
  • Stole his first career base against West Virginia (3/11)
  • Went 2-for-2 as the DH at Southern Illinois on 3/16, doubling and scoring two runs
  • Made his first career start in right field against Michigan State (5/6)
  • Went 2-for-4 with a run at Penn State (5/12)
  • Went 2-for-3 with a double and a run against Minnesota (5/18)
  • Played for the Crystal Lake Cardinals of the Chicago Suburban League along with Illini teammate Anthony Milazzo during the summer
  • Stole 55-of-59 bases while hitting .375 with 14 doubles for Crystal Lake, being named to the CSBL All-College team as one of the top college players in the league

High School

  • Earned All-Central Suburban League South Division honors in 2010
  • Played varsity football as a defensive back in 2009 and 2010, leading Maine South to consecutive IHSA Class 8A state football championships
  • Played in the 2011 Central Suburban League Senior All-Star Game
  • Earned varsity letters for both baseball and football in 2010 and 2011.

  • Hobbies include snowmobiling, watching movies, playing hockey, fishing and boating
  • Lists his biggest thrills in sports as winning the sectional championship with his high school baseball team in 2010 and winning three football state championships
  • Favorite athletes are Roberto Clemente because of what he did on and off the field, Roger Maris because of his integrity and humble demeanor, and Jim Edmonds because of his defensive play
  • Lists his parents as the people who have most influenced his athletic career through their love of sports and their support of his athletic achievements
