- Went 5-2 with a 4.80 ERA (43 ER/80.2 IP) in his first season at Illinois over 15 starts.

- Chose Illinois because, "Growing up in Madison and watching Big 10 sports all my life, it had always been a dream of mine to be one of those athletes someday. When I got on campus it felt like a place where I could live out that dream. Meeting with the coaches only confirmed my belief that Illinois would be the right fit for me as a program, school, and experience."
