He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Exercise Science and Strategic Communication from Texas Christian University (TCU) and a master’s degree in Applied Exercise Science from Concordia University Chicago.
Job Responsibilities:
Henry Aleck enters his fourth season with the University of Illinois in 2026-27 and currently serves as an Associate Strength & Conditioning Coach, overseeing strength and conditioning programming for Fighting Illini Baseball, Men’s Gymnastics, and Women’s Gymnastics.
Past Experience:
Prior to joining Illinois in 2023, he spent five seasons in professional baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels organizations. During his time in professional baseball, Aleck worked across multiple minor league affiliate levels, including time in Double-A and Triple-A levels, leading the programming, implementation, and tracking of performance training for professional athletes. In 2022, Aleck was named the Southern League Strength & Conditioning Coach of the Year.
Prior to his time in professional baseball, he worked at a performance facility in Texas assisting with NFL Combine prep training and rehabilitation programs for various return to play athletes within the professional, collegiate, and high school levels.
Additionally, Aleck worked at the University of Texas as a graduate Strength & Conditioning Coach with Longhorns Baseball and as an intern at UCLA with Olympic Sports.
Personal:
Aleck and his wife, Casey, reside in Champaign with their two sons. He serves on the National Strength and Conditioning Association Baseball Special Interest Group Executive Council. He holds certifications as an NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC-CSCS), Precision Nutrition Coach (PN1), USA Weightlifting, Functional Range Conditioning Specialist (FRCms), and is CPR/AED & First Aid certified.
