- Older brother, Reid, is his teammate on the Illlini
- Hobby is deer hunting
- Favorite athlete is Tim Tebow
- Majoring in elementary education
- Plans to teach after graduation
- Lists his father as the person who most influenced his athletic career because he always worked with him and taught him everything he knows
