Senior - 2015

  • Drafted in the ninth round by the Washington Nationals (No. 284 overall)
  • Second-Team All-American first baseman by NCBWA, ABCA, D1Baseball.com, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, Baseball America and Perfect Game
  • ABCA First-Team All-Mideast Region first baseman
  • Big Ten Player of the Year and first-team All-Big Ten (second career honor)
  • Most Outstanding Player of the Champaign Regional after batting .625, slugging 1.625 with two doubles, two home runs and a .750 on-base percentage

Sophomore - 2013

  • First-team All-Big Ten selection after hitting .313 with a home run, 39 RBI, 23 stolen bases and a .390 on-base percentage
  • Tied for first in the Big Ten with 23 steals and had the fewest errors among Big Ten first baseman with five for a .990 fielding percentage
  • Career-best performance came vs. Purdue (4/12), where he went 4-for-4 with an inside-the-park home run for his first career home run and tallied career highs with three runs and six RBI
  • Finished 8-for-12 (.667) with nine RBI, five runs, two doubles and one home run during sweep of Purdue while also slugging 1.083 and reaching base at a .733 clip
  • Turned in a career-best 11-game hitting streak from March 15-April 2 during which he hit .439 (18-for-41) with five multi-hit games
  • Took over at first base in the third game of the season and started 50 games there along with making two starts in left field at Indiana (4/6) and vs. EIU (4/9)
  • Walked six times during PSU series, including a career-high four on 5/11
  • Notched first career triple vs. Missouri (4/2) that scored two runs and gave UI the lead at Busch Stadium
  • Was named Big Ten Player of the Week by College Sports Madness following the Keith LeClair Classic
  • Posted a breakout performance at the Keith LeClair Classic, where he led the Illini in hitting with a .571 average (8-for-14), .643 slugging percentage and .625 on-base percentage
  • Also had a team-high nine total bases, four RBI and 31 putouts at first base for the tournament in Greenville
  • Had second career three-hit game vs. Oakland (3/29), finishing 3-for-4 with a run, and collected three RBI the next day vs. Oakland (3/30)
  • Played for the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League with Illini teammate Drasen Johnson during the summer.

Freshman - 2012

  • Played in 22 games, starting four at designated hitter
  • Hit .192, going 5-for-26 with two RBIs and four runs
  • Drove in his first career run against Notre Dame on 2/17
  • Recorded his first hit in his first career start against St. John's on 2/19, going 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run
  • Notched a pinch-hit at Oregon State on 3/10
  • Went 1-for-1 as a late-game replacement at Nebraska on 3/24
  • Started at designated hitter against Mississippi Valley State on 3/31, going 2-for-3 with three runs
  • Played for the Springfield Sliders of the Prospect League along with Illini teammates Chase Hainline, Michael Hurwitz and Rob McDonnell during the summer.

High School

  • Selected in the 42nd round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals
  • Hit .508 with 14 home runs, 44 RBIs, a 1.038 slugging percentage, a .601 on-base percentage and 19-of-19 steals during 2011 season
  • Holds Bishop Heelan records for single-season home runs and career doubles
  • Led Bishop Heelan to the Iowa State High School Athletic Association substate championship game in 2011
  • Earned seven letters in baseball, football and basketball
  • Helped Crusaders to Iowa Class 3A state titles in basketball in 2009-10 and 2010-11
  • Led Crusaders' football team to Iowa Class 3A state runner-up finish in 2010, catching 19 passes for 386 yards, recording 88 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five interceptions and three interceptions returned for touchdowns
  • Also returned kickoffs and punts.
