Field Trip Day Overview

Objective

Fighting Illini Field Trip Day aims to engage elementary students in the state of Illinois with the Fighting Illini and promote the importance of a college education.

We hosted over 8,000 students, teachers, and chaperons at our last Field Trip Day, however we can accommodate the full capacity of State Farm Center (over 15,000).

Our goal is to engage with as many local students in the state of Illinois as possible to educate them on the importance of a college education while also entertaining them. We hope to expand on our past Field Trip Days and reach over 10,000 students in 2023.

What to Expect

At Fighting Illini Field Trip Day at the State Farm Center, schools can expect their students to be immersed in the fun and energetic atmosphere of a collegiate sporting event.

All students and chaperons get into the game at no cost!

University of Illinois colleges, campus organizations, and other community groups will be part of the Field Trip Day pre-game activity fair. Booths and activities will provide hands-on and interactive experiences for the students to participate in. Through these activities, we aim to provide excitement about programs and career paths our colleges have to offer.

Logistics

Each school will be responsible for their own transportation and each child will be responsible for their own lunch. Although we have a clear bag and no outside food policy typically at State Farm Center, bagged lunches will be allowed for Field Trip Day. Concessions for this event will be fully cashless. Please be sure that your school is prepared for any students that need a federal lunch provided for them. Also, if you have any students that require ADA seating, please request those seats on the registration form. Prior to the game, we will send out seating charts and parking instructions to each school.
