Illinois Duels No. 14 Wisconsin to Scoreless Draw in B1G Opener

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois soccer (3-0-4, 0-0-1) drew its Big Ten opener to No. 14 Wisconsin (4-1-2, 0-0-1) on Thursday night in Demirjian Park.
Izzy Lee made four saves to keep her fifth clean sheet of the season which leads the Big Ten and is inside the top-5 in the country. She's been one of the best keepers in the nation through seven matches this season conceding only two goals and her .929 save percentage also leads the Big Ten and is 12th in the country.
Hedda Ornberg had the best chance of the night for the Illini in the 35th minute as she was in all alone, but her shot sailed just outside the top right corner. She led the offense with three total shots and one on net. Ashlyn Adams recorded Illinois' only other shot on goal in the 29th minute but it was corralled by the Badgers keeper.
The shots were tied tonight at five between Illinois and Wisconsin but the later held the edge 4-2 in shots on goal. Tonight's attendance was 526. The Illini soccer team continues Big Ten play on Sunday (Sept. 13) at 1 p.m. CT when Michigan makes the trip into Champaign.
