CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois volleyball announced its nonconference schedule on Wednesday. The slate features nine matches, including two clashes at Huff Hall.
The team opens the season at Northern Iowa for a neutral-site match against South Dakota State on Aug. 29. The Illini squad then battles Vanderbilt in the first-ever Broadway Block Party event at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The match on Aug. 31 will be the second-ever match for the Commodore program.
Trips to Notre Dame (Sept. 5) and the 2024 NCAA runner-up Louisville (Sept. 7) follow before a tournament at Illinois State. The Fighting Illini will battle Cincinnati, Miami (Fla.) and the host Redbirds from Sept. 12-14.
The final set of non-conference matches will be hosted at Huff Hall. The Orange and Blue welcome Iowa State (Sept. 19) and Eastern Illinois (Sept. 21) for a pair of weekend matches.
Illinois volleyball enters its ninth season under head coach Chris Tamas in 2025. With Tamas at the helm, the program boasts a 149-94 record with five NCAA Tournament appearances.
