CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Lucas Byrd and Luke Luffman were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large list, the association announced on June 17.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, nominees must have a minimum GPA of 3.50, completed one full calendar year at their current institution, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Wrestlers must also be in the lineup for in a minimum of 70 percent of matches which were team scoring (open tournaments, duals)Â ORÂ compete in their weight class at a conference championship meet.
Byrd earns the distinction for the first time in his career on the heels of his first national and Big Ten title as well at 133 pounds. The Cincinnati, Ohio native is also a three-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient. Luffman also earns the CSC Academic All-District nod for the first time in his career. The Urbana, Ill. native is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient.
