Illinois Falls to #24 Oklahoma in NCAA Tournament First Round

FORT WORTH, Texas – The Illini's 2025 season came to a close in the NCAA Tournament First Round on Friday afternoon, with Illinois falling to No. 24 Oklahoma, 4-0, at TCU's Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas.

Illinois earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the 18th time under 20-year head coach Brad Dancer.

The doubles point went in the Sooners' favor, with OU winning on Courts 1 and 3 en route to a 1-0 lead in the match. Illinois picked up a win at No. 2 doubles, with Kenta Miyoshi and Max Mroz improving to 3-1 as a tandem with a 6-3 victory against Oklahoma's Kholo Montsi and Luis Alvarez.

The Sooners posted three consecutive singles triumphs on Courts 2, 3, and 5 to clinch the match.

The Illini finish the season with a 15-12 record.
