WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Illinois softball dropped a Big Ten doubleheader against Purdue at Bittinger Stadium on Friday.
The Fighting Illini moved to 18-22Â on the year and 4-10Â in conference play. Purdue finished the day with a 24-17Â mark including a 7-8 league record.
GAME ONE
Illinois dropped the series opener to the Boilermakers, 6-2, to start the twinbill.
Stevie Meade's 2-for-4 performance at the plate, including a pair of RBI, was the bright spot for the Fighting Illini.
GAME TWO
The second game of the series also favored Purdue, with Illinois falling 1-0 in 12 innings.
Meade picked up where she left off, going 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles. Adisyn Caryl, Alaina Miller and Paige Berkmeyer also tallied one hit each in the loss.
